This Gemini 9A Pin is 1 inch in diameter and was produced by the official NASA patch manufacturer, AB Emblem. Gemini 9A was the seventh mission under the Gemini Program and launched on June 3, 1966. Command Pilot Tom Stafford and Pilot Gene Cernan orbited the Earth 47 times over the space of three days in their Gemini spacecraft. The mission was originally intended to be piloted by Elliott See and Charlie Bassett, but both pilots unfortunately died in a plane crash while en route to examine their Gemini spacecraft.
