This Project Apollo cover is boldly hand signed by astronauts Al Worden and Jim Irwin, and is postmarked Houston, Tex, Jul 26 1970. The Apollo cover depicts a capsule after splashdown being recovered by a US Navy ship. After re-entering the Earth's atmosphere, the Apollo 15 CM Endeavour deployed its parachutes, one of which collapsed after opening. Fortunately for the crew, only two parachutes were required for safe splashdown; the third was a contingency. The crew landed safely on August 7, 1971.
