DESCRIPTION

This artifact presentation contains a genuine piece of Apollo 13 Lunar Module "Aquarius" stowage assembly netting material. The material was removed from the wall within the LM aft bulkhead to the right of the food stowage compartment by LMP Fred Haise prior to the spacecraft being jettisoned.

Authentication Information:

The Lunar Module flown material came from the collection of William (Bill) Looney, the Lunar Module Test Manager at Grumman during the Apollo Program. Bill worked at Northrop Grumman for 35 years, and was the Lunar Module spacecraft test manager at Kennedy Space Center for Apollos 10, 13, and 15, and supported Apollo 5 (the first LM to fly) and Apollo 11.
