DESCRIPTION
A genuine 8.5" x 10.5" Apollo 11 training checklist containing four heavy semi-gloss lunar photo maps, one of which folds out to a panoramic measuring 10.5" x 28.5" and depicts landing site 2, the Sea of Tranquility and the actual landing site of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module Eagle. The three remaining maps depict the landing site of the Surveyor V probe that landed on Mare Tranquillitatis two years earlier in 1967, transmitting a total of 19,118 images of the lunar surface to Earth. The checklist contains a total of 9 pages, plus the front and rear covers are bound by three metal rings.
The front cover lists the mission and checklist name, Part Number SKB32100080, S/N Training, and is dated 16th July 1969, the official launch date of the Apollo 11 mission.
Authentication Information:
Upon examination, this checklist bears all the correct features of Apollo checklists, including, but not limited to, paper type and thickness, font use and size, plate materials, and so on. The checklist also includes certificates of authenticity from numerous prestigious space auctions, allowing for an established chain of ownership.
Condition Report:
Plates exhibit some silvering and minor rust marks near hole punches due to age, as expected. Otherwise, in fine condition.
