We proudly bring you this official Apollo 1 Patch. Apollo 1 was to be the first manned mission of the Apollo Program, but tragedy struck when a fire on the launchpad resulted in the deaths of the crew, Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee. Apollo 1 was due to launch on top of a Saturn IB launch vehicle, known as SA-204, but was used for the first unmanned Lunar Module (LM) test flight on Apollo 5.
