This helmet and glove cover belonged to astronaut Roger Chaffee. When Chaffee's Apollo 1 spacesuit helmet and gloves were not in use they would be stored within this cover. The cover, white in colour with velcro attached to the bottom, ID tags within and a black name tag sewn to the main strap which reads "R.B. Chaffee", opens up at the bottom to reveal the extension where the spacesuit gloves would be stored. After acquiring this artifact we contacted the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC to cross-reference the ID codes with those known by the Museum. It was quickly established that this helmet and glove cover was in fact the one used by Chaffee for Apollo 1.
This artifact is currently on display in a Museum.
