OUR ETHICAL POLICY: BECAUSE IT MATTERS
The Space Collective strives to be environmentally friendly, recycle-conscious, and ethically focused
The Space Collective was founded under the principles of being as environmentally friendly as possible. It is important to us that our impact on our world and the life that calls it home is as close to zero as possible. It is with this in mind that we have created and abide by this ethical policy.
We're Environmentally Friendly
Our primary focus is to be environmentally friendly in every facet of the day-to-day running of our business. This includes but is certainly not limited to reusing as much packaging as possible, choosing only recyclable, compostable, and/or biodegradable materials for shipment packaging, and minimizing the amount of paper we use in the course of our day. The only things we want to last a lifetime are the wonderful artifacts we sell, not the packaging, which ultimately ends up in our oceans.
Do No Harm
We understand that there is more to being ethically responsible than just minimizing our impact on the environment. We are also guided by the principle of doing no harm. This means that all of our products are free from animal and insect products and/or byproducts. This includes products we manufacture and purchase and even the packaging we use. As such, any product we create or buy will contain no real leather, silk, dairy, or any other animal derivative. The only exclusion to this rule is historical artifacts such as original Apollo space food, which have long ceased being edible (by around 50 years) and are part of space flight history. We often use Apollo space food as a talking point to show the evolution of food in space and where it will be in the future. Regardless, you can be assured that any products we stock outside of this incredibly narrow category will all be vegan-friendly.
